1. Who we are

This site is operated by BuiltByPELT AI Consulting LLC ("BuiltByPELT," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Goldsboro, North Carolina, USA. We build AI-native websites, business-management software, and AI automation for builders, fabricators, trades, and small businesses.

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, fill out a form, or chat with our built-in AI assistant — and what we do with it.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details you enter in a form or send to our AI chat assistant — such as your name, email, phone number, company, and anything you choose to tell us about your project.
  • Messages and requests you send us by email, the contact form, or the AI assistant.
  • Project information you share so we can prepare a quote or deliver a service.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and analytics data — pages you visit, how you got here, approximate location (from your IP address), browser and device type, and similar technical details.
  • Log and security data — IP address, timestamps, and request data kept by our hosting provider to keep the site running and secure.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data (like health, financial account numbers, or government IDs) through this website.

3. How our built-in AI assistant works

Our website includes a built-in AI chat assistant. Here's exactly what happens when you use it, in plain English:

  • Your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider. When you type or speak to the assistant, the content of your message (and recent chat history from that session) is sent to Google (Gemini) to generate a reply. We use Google's AI service so the assistant can respond intelligently.
  • It's used to answer you — not to train AI models. Your messages are processed to generate a response to you. Per our use of Google's paid/API services, your inputs and outputs are not used to train Google's general AI models.
  • It's ephemeral by design. The assistant is meant for in-session conversation. We do not build a long-term profile of you from chat content. If you share contact details so we can follow up, we keep those the same way we keep any other contact request (see retention below).
  • Don't share secrets. Please don't enter passwords, payment card numbers, or other highly sensitive information into the chat. If you want to send something sensitive, email us and we'll arrange a secure method.

Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy practices. See Google's privacy resources for details on how they handle data sent to their AI services.

4. Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember basic preferences, and understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Analytics tools may collect aggregated, mostly de-identified usage data.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Where required by law, we'll ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

5. How we use your information

  • Respond to your questions, messages, and chat conversations.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and estimates you request.
  • Deliver, support, and improve the services and software you hire us to build.
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website.
  • Send you service-related communications (for example, project updates or invoices).
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and contractual obligations.

We rely on a mix of legal bases depending on your location, including your consent, our legitimate business interests, the performance of a contract, and compliance with law.

6. Who we share information with (subprocessors & third parties)

We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed. Our key subprocessors are:

ProviderWhat they doWhat they may receive
CloudflareWebsite hosting, security & deliveryTechnical/log data, IP address, requests
Google (Gemini)Powers the AI chat assistantYour chat messages & session history
StripePayment processing for our servicesBilling & payment details you provide to pay an invoice

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer (such as a merger or sale). These providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

Payments: When you pay an invoice, your card details are entered with and handled by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers on our systems.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep personal information only as long as we reasonably need it:

  • Inquiries & quotes: kept while we're in contact and for a reasonable period afterward in case you come back.
  • Client & project records: kept for the life of the engagement and as long as needed for support, warranty, tax, and legal purposes.
  • AI chat content: treated as ephemeral session conversation; contact details you share through it are kept like any other inquiry.
  • Logs & analytics: kept for a limited period for security and improvement, then deleted or aggregated.

When we no longer need your information, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that's inaccurate.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of certain processing, marketing, or non-essential cookies.
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

To make a request, email us at hello@builtbypelt.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), reputable hosting and payment providers, and limited access to data — to help protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business, technology, or the law changes. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
